If you feel lonely – Three things I do/ I don’t

You are not the only one

Please remember everybody has had that feeling at least once in their life. You feel lonely because humans need social interaction as it is nature, so don’t worry! If you are struggling with thinking too much, change the way you behave and take right action in this situation to help yourself. People who have high resilience during these horrible situations, they react differently, and here are three tips.

If you feel lonely there are things you can do:

  • Send massages to close friends and family
    If you can tell them that you’re feeling lonely, that would be great, but if you don’t want to worry them, try starting a conversation with “How have you been? Did anything interesting happen today?”
  • Watch films, read a book or studying what you are interested in
    Absorb new information to occupy and distract your brain. Take negative thoughts out.
  • Tell yourself that this feeling won’t last forever. It might be challenging, especially when you’re alone at night. But remember, each morning brings a new day. Take the opportunity to go out, connect with someone, and share a laugh over silly things. Hopefully, you’ll come across decent people. In time, you may find someone nice, consider having a pet, or explore local communities or volunteer opportunities when you have the time.

Things you should not to do:

  • Drink on your own at home
    You want to take your loneliness feeling away, but drinking will only make it worse; drinking too much alcohol leads to losing rationality.
  • Question yourself
    Why is this happening to me. Why I don’t have good relationships. Why I am in this situation.
  • Thinking that your situation will never change.
    Make sure you talk to family or meet friends. Please do not push people away. If somebody tries to help you, let them into your life.

There are feelings related to loneliness. I recommend watching or reading ‘Normal People’ because many people have a hard time sometimes in their life, and this is normal.
