Do you have Resilience?

Each person faces the possibility of encountering unexpected and dreadful events in life. Resilience becomes paramount when confronted with challenging situations, requiring a strong mindset to navigate through struggles shared by many. Through reflection, I acknowledge my strength in maintaining a positive mindset, even during the darkest and most challenging periods I’ve faced. Analysing why I consistently choose a positive mindset, even in the face of adversity, leads me to consider that perhaps the worst is yet to come in my life.

Having a growth mindset helps in building high resilience as it encourages a focus on the future. I am consistently seeking opportunities to enhance my abilities and performance. When I have a goal, it becomes easier to approach even the more challenging or disliked tasks with determination. This is my story of a growth mindset.

What is Resilience?

Three lists are related to resilience. What is Resilience?
Resilience is the ability to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficult life events.

My constant pursuit of enjoyment leads me to explore different activities, persisting until I exhaust the thrill. During my primary school days, I found immense joy in gymnastics, spending every break playing on the bars, content even when alone. Regardless of the circumstances, I always manage to discover something to occupy myself, recognising my proficiency in this aspect. Despite facing challenging situations at home, I derived great satisfaction from my experiences beyond the confines of the house. Don’t dwell too much on what you can’t change. Utilise your brain for other purposes: learning new things, finding new places to go, or improving aspects of your life. I believe this has helped create my highly resilient personality.

Addressing the question, “Have you been abused?” has empowered me with a mindset that aids in breaking the chain of the vicious cycle of abuse. Read: History is Not Repeating.
